The Holloways

Terry, Leah, Donna, and Evan

We hope that you have enjoyed our web site. This page is about us.  Donna and I purchased the resort in 1992.  Before moving to the resort, we lived in Onamia, Minnesota, where Terry was a partner in a real estate company selling homes around Mille Lacs Lake.  Donna worked at several secretarial/clerical jobs in Onamia. Here in Longville, Donna was a paraprofessional at the Longville and Remer elementary schools for over 23 years.  It was a position that she enjoyed a great deal but retired from in January of 2016. Terry runs the resort, again, a position that he enjoys.

Holloway Granddaughter Samira – 2 years old and loves playing outside.

We have two kids, Evan and Leah.  Both are now off on their own. And on October 1, 2010, we added a third member to our family.  Evan and MaryAlecia Briggs were married, giving ua a new “daughter”.  Wonderfully, Evan and MaryAlecia added a precious fourth family member, Samira Ruth, pictured here.

Evan and MaryAlecia were married in a beautiful ceremony in Portland. Donna, Leah and I were there for a wonderful time with them and their friends. The wedding was a small affair for family and close friends and the following day, they had a reception for co-workers and more friends. We met MaryAlecia’s family for the first time.

Evan & MaryAlecia’s Minnesota Wedding Reception

Just before Samira was born, Evan and MaryAlecia moved to the Twin Cities and we were blessed to have them close for two and one half years.  It gave us a wonderful opportunity to spend lots of time with them and to get to know our granddaughter.  Recently, a new job opportunity on the East Coast presented itself and they moved in April of 2017.

Leah & Cleo

Leah worked for a year or so after college with the Audubon Societies Environmental Learning Center in Sandstone, Minnesota. There she taught and worked with some of the birds and animals.  Leah and Cleo are pictured below. After leaving the Audubon Center, Leah traveled in New Zealand for nine months. She hiked, scuba dove, jumped out of an airplane and generally had a great time.

She is now working for the Heller Nature Center in Highland Park, Illinois, as a Naturalist. Instead of working with eagles and owls, she is now a bee keeper.
